HISTORY OF HUMAN RIGHTS

The most famous legal Code of the Ancient time is the Code of Hammurabi. 1780 BC . It contains guidelines in case of violation or breaking of the rules .

THE CODE OF UR NAMMU

The Code of Ur - Nammu today accepted as the earliest Ancient Legal Code. ( Although there were earlier Legal Codes ) . It was of the Neo - Sumerian period, written on clay tablets in the Sumarian language. Known as cuneiform. 2050 BC .

THE LAW of THE TWELVE TABLES . 450 BC, was based on the Roman Law, and was the Foundation and centerpiece of The Roman Republic. It was a result of a long social struggle between the Patricians and the Plebeians .

THE MAGNA CARTA . Famous from the Middle Ages was the English Magna Carta . The Magna Carta was written in 1215, because of a disagreement between Pope Innocent III, King John and the English barons, about the rights of the king . From the point of view of the United Nations, especially, The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, OHCHR, there is no distinction i.c. between languages and dialects .
